The Old Good Days



My early years were full of excitement. Not only was it full of play time but also was founded on discoveries. Probably, it is because I was a normal child or partly because I was quite mischievous but whenever I felt worn-out (after a morning of fruitful playtime outside our house), my mind always went for instant noodles. A bowl of steaming luxurious comfort topped with egg and fried shallots, drenched in my favourite savoury soup.  

Damn it! It was and still blows my mind. 

When I was a four year old lad, this meant stop playing, and rush to the house ask my sister to make me some or do it myself the best way I knew how. And when I made some noodles, my sister laughed with a hint of derision that I hid when I ate. Partly because she scorningly called them cuisine or because they looked terrifying. But trust me I enjoyed them. And she hated it. 

Of course, later on, instant noodle brands came up with all kinds of flavours you could ever imagined. But, as always, nothing beats the classics.  Continue reading “The Old Good Days”
